The Vermont Historical Society is seeking two rising high school juniors or seniors for our Geiger Fellowship program, which awards stipends of $1,500 for summer work related to the collections, archives, and exhibits of the Vermont Historical Society. Potential activities include: learning to tell cultural stories through historical artifacts and artwork, learning museum standards for collections, and assisting with exhibitions and associated programs. Students will ideally work two days a week in June, July, and August, though the schedule can be flexible.

To apply, current juniors and seniors from Vermont high schools should send a letter of interest, two letters of recommendation, and a short essay (max 500 words) describing an object and how that item tells a unique story to teresa.greene@vermonthistory.org. In 2022, we will have one opportunity each available in collections & education. Please include the word “Collections” or “Education” in the subject of your application email. Applications will be accepted until May 1st.

The Geiger Fellowship is generously underwritten by Harvey and Pamela Geiger.
