The Geiger Fellowship will be awarded to two (2) high school juniors or seniors in the State of Vermont. Geiger Fellows will ideally spend two-days-a-week for eight weeks in June, July, and August working directly with collections and archives of the Vermont Historical Society (alternative schedule may be allowed). Fellows will: learn to tell cultural stories through historical artifacts and artwork, learn how to properly handle and house rare museum holdings, become proficient in museum standards and record-keeping, and assist with exhibition planning, design, and installation. Each Geiger Fellow will receive a stipend of $1,250.

To apply, current juniors and seniors from Vermont high schools should send a letter of interest, two letters of recommendation, and a short essay (max 500 words) describing an object and how that item tells a unique story to steve.perkins@vermonthistory.org. Applications will be accepted until April 1st.

The Geiger Fellowship is generously underwritten by Harvey and Pamela Geiger.
